Sunday 9 August 2026 at 8.30 pm – MALINCKA Quartet
Chantemerle, Serre d'Aigle Hall
A concert by the all-female quartet MALINCKA is a vocal and polyphonic journey around the world. Whether performing a cappella or with accompaniment (guitar, percussion, flute, harmonium…), reinterpreting songs from centuries-old oral traditions, borrowing musical arrangements from top-class ensembles (Barbara Furtuna, Lo cor de la Plana, Evasion, Ando Drom, Chet Nuneta…) or composing their own pieces, they love above all to sing of those peoples who live with the culture of traditional songs as a means of bearing witness, of connection and of direct expression.
Tuesday 11 August 2026 at 8.30 pm – Jazz Bossa, Recital: Jo Kaiat invites Jussanam
Chantemerle, Serre d'Aigle Hall
Jo Kaiat devotes himself to music, a realm whose boundaries are limited only by those that man chooses to set for himself. His musical journey began with jazz, but it soon became clear that swing was insufficient to express everything he had within him. He then turned to Bela Bartok, Olivier Messiaen, Stravinsky and the Impressionists. He spent his teenage years tinkering with chords in search of a mystery.
Wednesday 12 August 2026 at 8.30 pm – A tribute to Jimmy Cliff featuring Jussanam, Jo Kaiat and the Serre Gospel Singers
Chantemerle, Salle du Serre d'Aigle
Born in 1948 in St James, Jamaica, as James Chambers. His early musical influences were the idols of his childhood, and as is often the case, they came from the United States: the great stars of soul music, but also Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon and so many others. He released his first single at the age of 14 after having the nerve to walk into Leslie Kong’s shop and sing a song he’d just written a cappella. This attempt proved successful, as Mr Kong had him record ‘Hurricane Huttie’ straight away, a track whose lyrics tell of a hurricane that ravaged everything in its path.
The artists of the Swing in the Mountains festival, Jussanam, Jo Kaiat and the Serre Gospel Singers, wish to pay him a very special tribute this evening.
Thursday 13 August 2026 at 8.30 pm – A tribute to Josephine Baker with Jussanam.
Chantemerle, Serre d'Aigle Hall
Jussanam is a South American singer deeply inspired by the life and work of Josephine Baker. Having fallen in love with this extraordinary figure, she has chosen to pay tribute to her on stage by retracing her remarkable journey through a performance brimming with emotion.
Originally from Brazil, Jussanam admires above all Josephine Baker’s humanist values: her love for others, her generosity, her commitment and her deep respect for humanity. It is this aspect of the woman, as much as that of the artist, that she now wishes to convey to the audience through her performance.
She will be accompanied by Jo Kaiat on the piano.
Saturday 15 August 2026 at 8.30 pm – ‘Assumption Special’ Gospel Evening with Delphine Mailland and the Serre Gospel Singers
Chantemerle, Serre d'Aigle Hall
The Serre Che Gospel Singers choir has been performing at the festival for over 20 years. It comprises between 15 and 30 passionate, professional singers from diverse backgrounds and all over the world. They will perform gospel classics, soul music and songs by Jimmy Cliff in a well-deserved tribute.
Delphine Mailland, a singer with an unconventional career path. Despite her Corsican roots, she began by performing the songs of Edith Piaf and Barbara. An encounter with jazz musicians naturally led her to write and self-produce an album, ‘Notes Bleues’: in it, she explores the worlds of prostitution, the audiovisual industry, nightlife and madness.
Her voice is enchanting and her career is studded with numerous victories in France’s most prestigious singing competitions; She was spotted by Bruno Berberes from The Voice, which led to her appearing on the show in front of the coaches: Zazie, Pagny, Fiori and Garou. She was also noticed by the production team at France 2, who opened the doors to the show La Voix des Stars for her.
